Modern electronics offer so many opportunities for improvement of our daily life. One opportunity hasn’t got much reception yet, but that is about to change: how electronics can economize our daily life. The City of San Francisco wants electronic parking meters that automatically calculate optimal prices for every time of the day, so that parking spaces are used optimally.
Long ago I’ve had the idea of electronic price tags in supermarkets. They could calculate lower prices for goods that are nearing their date of expiration. That way supermarkets could reduce the amount of food that they have to throw away at the end of the day.
